Friends will be friends ...........

Decided to enlist some help today, after praying to the gods for the rain to stop lo the sun came out and let us work outside. Joe and I were joined by Dave and Sean and having more eyes and more height the engine was trial fitted mounts drilled and finally fitted into place. Phew thats a relief ! Spent some time trying to get the wiring as neat as Jon's which I was admiring on his blog, took a long time but not a bad result in the end. Placed the cars number on the front for a photocall, thats it then ready for the road !! LOL. The water temp wires are too short, think I have read about this on the forum so will browse later. Time for a beer and watch the football ! 6 hours today 111 hours total ! NELSON hopping on one foot RIP Shep ! (If you are not a cricket fan you won't understand this rubbish)

Dave,Sean and Joe

  1. Looking good - I was surprised how easy installing the engine and connecting it up was Is the number plate special? mine will be linked to - Westfield - 2.0L and my initials (to stop any arguments between the boys!)
Which water temp sensor? The standard sensor for the ECU was okay but the instrument temp sensor was just tto short and I will extend it next week when my new heat gun arrives - I bought it in preparations for WF not being able to source the rocker switch back shells!!!

  2. The only special bit about the number plate is we reckon 753W in a mirror looks like 'WEST' other than that it is a standard number. Cannot afford to spend a further fortune on a good one, the government here have just cottoned on to the idea of selling numbers, up until a couple of years ago you could get almost anything for sixty quid ! Yup it is the instrument temp gauge, just need to get a big ring terminal then will extend.
